Three Mistakes you Should Avoid in Google Adwords

December 5, 2009

You may try the Google Adwords and post an ad to promote your company or product. You can setup an ad in 15 minutes and let the world know your product. It is so simple but you should be care on expense on the pay-per-click advertisement. There are three mistakes you should avoid.

#1 Long List of Keywords

Do you go crazy to find out “every keyword” related to your company, your product and your ad? You want to make the keyword list longer and longer, such that when people use search engine can see your ad. The fact is you should not make the list long, you should make it targeted.

For example, if you are a software company, keyword “download” may be suitable for your ad. What happen if people click the ad with this keyword? You need to pay much but most probably got zero feedbacks. Why? The reason being is that the cost per click (CPC) for such a generic keyword will be much higher compared with a more descriptive relevant keyword. You need to compete with different company on this “download” keyword, include MP3 download site, Musical Website, big software company or even MP3 manufacturer. The price must be much higher. Why not pick a descriptive keyword like “download printing software”? You will not compete with those musical or mp3 websites or even those big software company.

#2 Landing to your home page

Don’t bring your visitor to your home page. When visitor clicks on the ad, you should bring to the page with exact information your ad described and not to a generic home page or welcome page. Why? Visitors are busy to look for information. When they click on the ad, it will bring them to a page. They will skim through the page to locate the information. If they cannot find the information they need, they will close your page and click on another ad. You pay for the ad but got nothing.

You should bring your visitor to the landing page with the exact information. If the keyword is “Printer Cartridge”, you should bring your visitor to “Printing Supplies Page” and not the “Computer Store Page” or “Printer Page”.

#3 Missing Keywords in Your Ad

When creating your ad, you shouild add your keywords in to your title and descriptive text. If your ad does not have any relation with your keyword, the quality of your ad will be lower. You need to pay more to get into a higher position. You should keep your ad related to your keywords.

Understanding The Affiliate Marketing Language

November 26, 2009

You are about to encounter a language that you have never heard before: the language of Internet Marketing, as it relates to Affiliate Marketing. It is important that you understand what it all means, to ensure that you are signing up for programs that are worth your time.

As you will learn, it is important to read the terms and conditions for affiliates. Sometimes, you will be presented with those terms before you sign up, and sometimes you will be presented with them after you sign up. But it is important that you read them, and it is important that you understand what is being said.
It is also important that you understand what the following terms or abbreviations mean:

CPC: Cost per click. This relates to how much it costs for each click an ad or link receives when advertising on a CPC basis. In other words, instead of paying a flat rate for the advertisement, you would pay a certain amount of money for each click the ad receives.

ppc: Pay Per Click. This relates to CPC, where you pay for each click that your ad or link receives. Google AdWords is an example of pay per click advertising.

CPA: Cost per action, or cost per acquisition. Basically, this means that you will pay each time an action is taken. The action may be a click, a sign up, or a sale. In fact, many affiliate programs also pay on a CPA basis, meaning that each time someone clicks on your link, or signs up to receive information through your link, you earn a little money. Google AdSense is an example of this.

CTR: Click Through Rate. This number is usually represented as a percentage, and it refers to the number of times your ad was clicked on, in relation to how often the ad was viewed.

CPM: Cost per thousand. The amount of money you pay for every one thousand ad impressions.

URL: Uniform Relay Link, otherwise known as a link, or a website address.

Affiliate Link: A URL or link that is assigned to you by the affiliate program. This is the link that you will promote, as it is used to track your clicks and sales.

Contextual Link or Text Link: A contextual link is a link that looks like content, because it is all text. It may be several words long.

Charge Back: This will be an important term to you. This refers to when customers cancel their orders, or have their credit card companies reverse the charges. It basically means that you lose a sale. Some affiliate programs will hold money back each pay period to cover potential charge backs/refunds, and release that money to you after a specified period.

SPAM: Unsolicited Commercial Email. This term also refers to commercial posts on forums and blogs. Most affiliate programs will have strict anti-spam regulations that you must follow.

Revenue Sharing Program: This is the same thing as an affiliate program.

Co-Branding: Some affiliate programs offer co-branding options, where your company name or logo is placed on a reseller’s website, or on the product itself.

Referral Link: The same as an affiliate link.

Tracking: The method or software used to record sales, clicks, leads, and other information that has to do with your affiliate link.

HTML or HTML Code: HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. This is the programming language used to build webpages. HTML code generally refers to a small portion of HTML code, such as that needed to place affiliate links or banners on your webpages.

Partner Program: This is the same thing as an affiliate program.

If you come across other terms or abbreviations that you aren’t sure of the meaning of, make sure that you stop and go find out what it means before agreeing to anything or before doing anything. Not knowing can cause problems later on.

Data Entry Work From Home Secrets Reveled

November 16, 2009

Data Entry Work From Home Secrets Reveled

Do you want to make over $3410 a month working from home, part time?

Heck YES!! Who doesn’t? Well today is your lucky day! For only $19.95 …

We all have been there before. If you haven’t, good for you. Don’t go there. It is just another semi scam. Why do I say semi, well because it is not all lies, it is just a simple misrepresentation of truth.

But before we get to the inside of the secret, let’s take some time to think clearly for a second. Work from home Guru’s do know the secret that makes so much money why are they:
a.Spending so much time and effort trying to selling that secret?
b.Can’t afford a profession web site designer.
c.And most importantly charge for the job.

I will explain the last one in a little more detail. Let’s say somebody really knew a secret like that, wouldn’t it make sense to hire people to work for him, or create a contract starting that the user of the secret will share his first, let say 5% of profit for the first 6 month of the employment. I mean think about it, 5% of $3410 that about $170 a month from a person. It is much better than just charging 19 dollars up front. They must be very generous people. Or may be their secret is not so exciting after all?

So what is it, that money making secret, anyway. What do the secret sell’s men give you for your money? They base their theory on the something that seems like it could work, at least theoretically (so people won’t try to get their money back right away)

There is a web site called a Click Bank, http://www.clickbank.com/ . It specializes on selling digital goods. Anything that could be sold over the internet: e-books, access to web sites and software. What makes this web site so special is that they offer a very good affiliate program. Meaning you can register as an affiliate for the web site, and you can sell any of the product that are listed on the web site. If you manage to make a sell you will get from 50 to 75 percent of that sale. That first thing that you would be told to do by your money making Guru is to register on the click bank site.

The second part involves registering with Google AdWords. That is pay per click advertisement program. Google places your add on other people web sites and you pay for every click, starting from 30 cents, that people make on your ad That is the second thing that the “Secret Tellers” teach you.

An the last thing is the IDEA. The idea is to create an add, that will promote one of the product offered at Click Bank. People would click on your ad, go to the web site of the Click Bank Seller, buy the product, and you will get the 50 to 75 percent commission on the sale. It sound simple and brilliant doesn’t it. It dose sound like it could actually work. And it could. That is when I decided to conduct an experiment.

I researched the click bank, selected a product, and created an advertisement and …
Waited, for a day. I set my advertisement limit for 17 dollars a day, because that is how much I was expecting to make from one sell. So my idea was that if I make at least one sale before I reach my daily limit, I would actually brake even. I ended reaching my limit of 17 dollars in the first 3 hours. I was getting a lot of click, my add appeared on a lot of pages, but I didn’t get any sale’s, so the first 17 dollars went down the drain.

Next I decided to change the product. Also I changed the ad lay out. I stated the price of the product and the service provided on the add, so the people who would click on it would be more likely to buy. And I used a cheaper less expensive key words, to attract more customers for the same amount of money( key word eBay cost one dollar per click, while key word fun, only cost me 30 cents). After accomplishing all that, I left my add for another 3 days. I managed to meet my daily limit, and I canceled the ad before the end of third day. The product did not sell once.

Than I assumed that I used an improper link to direct costumers to the pitch page (Click Bank provides a special link for you, you will get a percent from anybody who used that link to access the pitch page). I only could think of one way to test the link, I bought something from myself. Everything did work, and I received a 25% of the sale price credited to my click bank account as soon as the transfer went through.

What it told me is that 3 and a half day of advertisement and more that 60 visitors did not bring me a single sale. The cost of running ads for 4 days added up to be around 50 dollars. I spent another 7 dollars on the item that I don’t need. And I had 0 dollars to show for it.

Of course may be my add were bad, or may be I have chosen a bad product (both of the times). I don’t know. But even if I did made let say 3 sales, I would still end up loosing money. And in order for me to get 3 sales, I would need 1 out of 20 people who visited the pitch site to actually buy something. I don’t think it is realistic. I know I personally would visit 1000 pages before I would actually buy something. So I don’t think that you can realistically make some money doing something like that.

So I decided not to do the “Data Entry” anymore.

Do you still want to do it?

Fell free to try. At least I saved you $19.95 on the”" #1, Worlds Best Kept SECRET!! “

Sincerely, Alex Kras

How Your Site Affects Your Pay-Per-Click Income

November 5, 2009

A discussion of how your web site and choice of web host can affect your pay per click income and advertising efforts.

Pay per click programs are not for everybody. Although they can serve the dual purpose of bringing in income and improving your web traffic the best campaign in the world won’t work for you however if you have a site that is down or with broken links. As pay per click programs are all about clicking you need to make sure that your web host provider is not shortening your earning time by putting a nice big 404 on your pages at certain times of the day or sabotaging your affiliate graphics or search engine boxes with little white squares containing red X’s (a favorite technique of http://bravenet.com)

Another thing to keep in mind is that if your web site has limited bandwidth, don’t expect to make money with pay-per-click programs. Find solid, reliable webhosting that can support a large volume of traffic. This means the site can’t be free. In order to make money in the pay per click business your site needs to support a lot of traffic without technical interference.

One way that pay per click programs and people that you might want to trade links with ask you to prove technical expertise is to provide statistics that your site gets a certain amount of clicks or visitors each month. This is where software can come in handy so you have evidence that your site does not go on and that what is showing on your web counter is an honest portrayal of the number of visitors that your site actually gets.

If your site gets more than 100,000 impressions per month, then you should be able to sell advertising, be enrolled in pay per click or be approved for just about anything what you want. Wiithout traffic you have no clicks. Statistics show that less than one percent of people who see a banner on a website will click on it which is why link exchanges and banner sites are reluctant to do business with a site with no traffic. This is why you can’t succeed with a pay-per-click affiliate program unless you have a lot of traffic.
